Paranoid Preface
I’ve felt Neptune in Aries coming for quite a few years – or at least felt the paranoia of it. I’ve hemmed and hawed over putting any thoughts out on it because I don’t want to scare people – especially if I’m wrong and there was nothing to be afraid of! Eventually the impulse to share became too great, however, so I’ve pieced together my thoughts based on archetypes, events from previous Aries Neptune transits, omens, the 2025 ingress chart, the current state of things, and what feels like a natural progression out of Neptune in Pisces. I’ve tried to leave expressions of fear and paranoia in previous drafts, but of course, some of it snuck in.
I’ve broken up this article into three posts so you can easily navigate to the info you want if you’re not looking to read everything linearly.
Know that these things could happen, but planetary energies – as archetypes – express in a myriad of ways and I could be wrong. I could also be right about some things though, and that is why it feels important to bring these ideas to the forefront for you to sit with and maybe even let these thoughts inform your actions over the next few years if/when you see any of these archetypes coming alive around you…
I know I’m not alone in my worries. In fact, the fears of others have influenced my own since 2020 when I started thinking about Neptune leaving Pisces.
To greater or lesser extents, all of us are tuned in to the American and international political landscape, collective moods, cultural values, economic tension, etc. and my thoughts on Neptune in Aries come from of course the archetypes of Neptune and Aries, but also from historical happenings of past Neptune in Aries transits, and finally the current context of the country and the world to tell me about where we might be going collectively with this energy.
If you’re looking to get right to my predictions for Neptune in Aries, read Part 2 and 3 of this series.
Let’s look at just a few previous Neptune in Aries transits to root into the energy. I know others have done in depth historical research on this transit that will resurface soon with it coming up again, but I will just be focusing on a couple for this blog. One easy to access and great article on different Neptune in Aries time periods is from Jessica Davidson.
Neptune in Aries Through History
Here are the most recent Neptune in Aries time periods in case you’d like to do some looking yourself:
- 1861-1875: The start and end of the American Civil War. The founding the Theosophical Society. The Civil Rights Act passed and slavery “abolished” “guaranteeing” African Americans “equal” treatment in *some* circumstances such as public transit, public accommodations, jury service…the Supreme Court overturns this decision in 1883 though. The Homestead Act passed. The first national union for workers is established as well as the KKK and Red Cross. Dynamite invented. The Periodic Table published. Surgical and antiseptic innovations, and much more from Jessica’s blog.
- 1697-1711: Rebellions in Europe. The formation of Great Britain (England + Scotland) and growing tensions between Protestants and Catholics, and between the British colonizers and colonized Scots.
- 1534-1547: Henry VIII breaks from Rome and declares himself supreme head of the Church of England sparking fighting between Catholics and Protestants, and a total shift in religious practice. The Roman Inquisition occurs. For the plant nerds, Valerius Cordus, a German physician and botanist wrote the first pharmacopeia covering medicinal plants, minerals and how to make drugs in the Dispensatorium.
Omens
Especially this year in 2024 when Neptune is at 29′ of Pisces, I’m seeing omens that harken back to previous Neptune in Aries happenings.
For example, its interesting that Trump gained immunity in July 2024 from a new law declaring that a President is immune from prosecution for any “official acts” under the auspices of being in office…functionally making the President a “supreme head,” a king.
During the mid-August 2024 DNC we saw Kamala’s campaign slogan is “We Fight, We Win” and continuously using the language “Joyful Warriors” to describe her constituents.
In early Sept 2024 Democracy Now! reported on the video leak of the Project 2025 co-author plans and kept calling it a “battle plan”
We’ve been seeing progressive shifts toward a more aggressive and violent rhetoric for a while, but it’s fascinating to see it so blatantly in both parties marketing now. Both parties seem to be fighting for what they believe is the soul of America and rallying their followers to get in formation. This is more than just a normal election to many people – at least, the collective belief of many seems to be that it is a turning point like nothing we’ve seen in this country since the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, or the World Wars of the 20th century.
Pay attention to any right-wing media outlet or listen to more extreme conservatives in the past 5-10 years and you’ll hear people saying they’re gearing up for a civil war. As in, bunkers, guns, a basement of non-perishables, beer, and fighting whoever necessary to maintain or regain their freedoms. They claim Obama was “the start” of all the trouble America is in. Whatever you think of Obama, you are seriously mistaken if you think America wasn’t barreling towards trouble before 2008!
To hear the Democratic party using fighting language now too is fascinating. Our two contenders for President, Kamala and Trump, are both very martial/Marsian which aligns with this upcoming transit no matter who wins. Side note: Catherine Urban has done in-depth research on the political careers and astrology of these candidates and I would steer you to her work for more on who might win.
In many ways it seems we’re at the brink of dissolving the 2 party system – which is on par with previous Neptune in Aries transits. Already, we’ve seen that 3rd party candidates such as Jill Stein and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. can make a surprising impact as far as 3rd party candidates go.
We seem to be clearing up the illusion that either party has ever really been that different than the other, or that either party as a whole is truly for the interests of the people. American politicians are imperialists following lobbyist money and that’s only become apparent to more and more people on both sides. Which, I’d argue is a good thing. At least Democrats, Republicans and Anyone Else have something we can agree on…if we’re going to resist the distraction of fighting each other (which is what the elites want) we’ve got to find some inkling of common ground.
Obviously these few omens I’ve written are not exhaustive. I realize too that the few I have here are pretty negative! I will likely keep editing this blog to add in more omens as they come through.
Admittedly – in my own meditations – the first few years of Neptune in Aries feel like a big tension knot that I can’t take my focus from and so my feelings about Neptune’s first few years in Aries seem rocky. When I feel into the energy past the next few years it doesn’t feel nearly as tense and there are definitely good things that I see coming from Neptune in Aries. I just have focused more immediately on difficult political possibilities – sorry! Further along in the article I’ll cover less directly political interpretations that I imagine we’ll see culturally.
As far as omens go, most importantly I encourage you to tap into the history of this transit and its archetypes and see what day to day occurrences happen to you and around you that feel omen-like and keep track once Neptune in Aries hits.
Ok, let’s move on to look at the ingress chart and Neptune in Aries predictions.
